Booking Terms & Conditions for The View/Whiskey Bar

Thank you for choosing The View/Whiskey Bar for your upcoming event! To ensure a smooth and successful experience for you and your guests, please review the following terms and conditions. By confirming your booking, you agree to abide by these terms.

1. Booking & Confirmation

1.1 Booking Process: A booking is considered provisional until a signed contract and a 50% deposit have been received.
1.2 Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed only once you have received a written confirmation from The View/Whiskey Bar and the deposit has been processed.

2. Payment Terms

2.1 Final Payment: Full payment of the event balance is due 5 working days after receiving the final invoice after all extra’s, damages, breakages, changes in PAX has been amended/updated, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
2.2 Late Payments: A late fee of 15% will apply to payments not received by the due date. The View reserves the right to cancel the event if the deposit is not received before the event.

3. Cancellation Policy

3.1 Client Cancellations: Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation charges apply as follows:

  • More than 7 days before the event: 80% of the venue hire cost is due.
  • Less than 7 days before the event: 100% of the total event cost is due.
    3.2 Venue Cancellations: The View/Whiskey Bar reserves the right to cancel the event if any unforeseen circumstances arise that prevent the event from taking place. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.


4. Event Schedule

4.1 Event Timing: The event must begin and end at the times agreed upon in the contract. The View/Whiskey Bar reserves the right to charge an additional fee for events that exceed the agreed-upon time.
4.2 Setup and Breakdown: The client is responsible for ensuring that the event is set up and broken down within the time allocated. Any additional setup or breakdown time required may incur extra charges.


5. Venue Use & Restrictions

5.1 Guest Conduct: The client is responsible for the conduct of their guests during the event. Any inappropriate behavior, damage, or disturbance to the venue or other guests may result in the immediate termination of the event.
5.2 3rd Party suppliers: The venue suppliers all aspects of the event [technical, decor, AV specialists etc] and clients suppliers are not allowed unless otherwise agreed upon. If agreed upon the venue will charge a 15% mark up on all external suppliers.
5.4 Food & Beverage: Food and beverage must be provided exclusively by The View/Whiskey Bar, unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. No external catering or alcohol is allowed without prior written consent. The venue will charge a 15% mark up on all F&B expenses from external suppliers


6. Liability & Insurance

6.1 Damage to Property: The client will be held responsible for any damage to The View’s/Whiskey Bar or the common areas at the property caused by guests or externl vendors. The client agrees to cover the cost of repairs or replacement if necessary.
6.3 Personal Items: The View/Whiskey Bar is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property during the event.


7. Force Majeure

7.1 Unforeseen Circumstances: The ViewWhiskey Bar is not liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, accidents, pandemics, or government-imposed restrictions.


8. Event Changes

8.1 Changes to Event Details: Any changes to the event details (such as number of guests, catering requirements, or schedule) must be made at least 7 days before the event. The View/Whiskey Bar will do its best to accommodate these changes but cannot guarantee availability.
8.2 Additional Fees: Changes to the original event scope may incur additional fees, including those for extra time, staffing, or resources.


9. Indemnity

9.1 Indemnification: The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The View/Whiskey bar, its employees, agents, and contractors from any liability, damages, or legal claims arising from the event, including accidents or injuries to guests, contractors, or third parties.


10. Governing Law

10.1 Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Mauritius and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts.
